[Art Print] 2026 Hulyo by Don Fumar

When I first moved to Manila from Cavite, one of the things that brought me joy was helping and feeding the community cats around our condo. We’ve also rescued cats in Cavite, so seeing people in Manila show care for these voiceless creatures, whether individually or as groups, really inspired me.

For this piece, I imagined a playful, rainy-July setting: someone feeding community cats in a whimsical karinderya-al-fresco style, inspired a bit by the Mad Hatter tea party. While I thought of many aspects of Manila life (accessibility, art markets, fashion, cozy coffee shops, etc.), this memory stood out as both personal and joyful, so I built the illustration around it. — Don Fumar (@studiodondon)
